okay i just swapped a 6bolt into my 97 gst... its running okay, but it only makes power when i have the timing advanced to 30+ degrees at idle. and then it idles around 2k rpms. if i turn the cas all the way counter clock wise the idle sits at 12 degrees, according to my logger... but with it that low i dont make any power... i can hear the boost but i get no pull... when i up the timing i get lots of power

does this mean im running rich when the timing is low? i really cant stand the 2k rpm idle, but i also really cant stand having no power... what can i do or check to fix this problem? the biss is screwed in all the way. the tan lookin idle controller on the TB is all whithin spec, and the tps appears to be fine...

Why don't you check if your timing is correct first? And then SET THE CAS with a GUN.. Don't use a logger for it.

I call it a gun because it's shaped like a gun... Usually.. I just didn't include the word timing in front of it. But yea, I think you can rent one from autozone or something.

And don't forget to ground the timing adjust lead on the firewall (if that is retained with a 2G six bolt swap), so the ECU will go hands-off. ECU typically advances timing dramatically at idle so less fuel is used while the car is just sitting there

It should be in the middle of the pulley on the raised lip that seperates where the 2 belts would meet.

Check to feel for any imperfections/notches that would be the TDC notch
