I bought some wierd boost gauge at the local go fast shop so i could see what the hell is going on boost wise. I should have purchased an autometer cuz this thing is driving me crazy. Its "smokey" when its not lit...meaning i cant see ANYTHING! Here is the problem.
It has 3 wires. Black. Red. and Orange.
The crappy instructions tell me that black is ground (duh). Red is 12v ignition. And orange is 12v lighting. I'm lost on this 12v lighting. I have no idea what is does and why i need it. Also why i can just hook it all up to the same 12v source. I touched the orange wire to the battery to see what it does...NOTHING! The red wire makes my guage light up..still hard to see though. I have the 12v Red wire tapped into the fuse box and the gauges light up only when the car is on. I really need to know what the hell this 12v lighting orange wire could do and where should i hook it up? The cig lighter light? I've ran power to it and it seems to do nothing.....hmmmm
Thanks

, autometer gauges were never really "bright enough" so can't help you there. As for the orange lighting wire, that wire "can" if you want tap into your wire for the dimmer switch so that when you dim your lights the boost gauge dims also... I bet most of the people on here just leave that wire alone and don't do anything with it, because if it's not bright enough in the first place then there would be no reason to dim it. so just leave it not connected to anything.
