3" intake pipe with no plug for oil catch can line?

So i bought a new 3" hard intake pipe but it dont have a plug to put one of my oil catch can lines to and im worried the oil is gonna get on my maf sensor and clog things up inside? my stock intake rubber pipe had 2 plugs and i used one of them to go to my catch can so now i only have 1 line hooked up to my valve cover so is this bad? i have the 2g mas not stock so i didnt find any pipes with plugs on them that hookup to the the 2g mas.

it seems to sit pretty hi up so i dont think oil gonna reach to my maf sensor but maybe my bov tube...
 
You can drill and tap for a brass fitting. Just make sure you get a pipe thread tap and some thread sealant.
 
It is going to need the fabrication stated above. Make sure it is all cleaned out after the drilling and welding is complete. You wouldn't want to get anything in your turbo! Good luck! Post some pics!
 
I wouldn't have expected any. Things flow down the pipe not up the pipe. If you really need more sucking power for blowby/catch can you could plug the second hose so it's a sealed system or really step up the suction and do as others have suggested and weld/drill/tap another port on your intake for your second line.

Essentially, delete the second line or get another nipple going on that intake.

i use to find oil in my old stock rubber intake pipe but with this 3" hard pipe it seems to stay clean inside :)
 
While this thread is up I just wanted to ask a similar question like this to make sure I have my setup right. So I currently have a hose running from my Valve Cover to a catch can and also from the PCV to the catch can. I also got a hose running from the bottom of the can to behind the tranny to drain any of the old oil. Im running a Dejon pipe with a 2g MAF so it has no extra nipples for the hoses. Is this cool?:hmm:
 
i think it should be fine but im also wondering if your running the pcv valve line how it should be where is that oil going to? also is it better to run the pcv hose to your catch can instead like the above has his?
 
Well I have both of the hoses running to the catch can. I know the original setup has the PCV running to the intake manifold I believe? But I honestly haven't even checked what kind of IM I have. (I know)...its not the stock one. Its black. Actually this is a picture of one on slowgsr's car. Dsm stock pcv setup image by Crxracer88 on Photobucket I was told I could just run both hoses to a catch can since its just for releasing crankcase pressure. Or am I very wrong???
 
I've actually read this thread very thoroughly. (I know it doesn't seem so) but I wanted to know what IM I had. Also I just wanted to know if I could run from the catch can to the ground or if it had to go to my intake. (I would need to drill a nipple fitting).
 
I asked Calan, the author of the tech article, a similar question regarding the catch can set up. My catch can is a vented CC with 2 ports. I had the line from the valve cover going to 1 port and the other was capped off. My PCV was factory, straight to the IM. It works but it's better to have the CC hooked up to the intake so that it will pull vacuum and better vent the crankcase. Now I have the line from the VC going the the CC and then a line from the CC to the intake pipe. My PCV is still factory with the addition of a check valve. If you need more help understanding it I would pm calan.

Post a picture of your IM, I'm sure someone will be able to identify it for you. The only black one I've ever seen was made by VENOM. It could have been painted/powdercoated.
 
I heard since i dont have a plug in my intake pipe to put my other line from my catch can to that its a bad thing and it brings dirt into the engine?

Do you read any of the responses that people give you?

Ok well i heard i can run it this way if i dont wanna drill into the intake just like he did in this picture pcv valve to catch can back to side of valve cover and cap off the plug where the pcv hose connects to on the intake is this true?
