This may seem like a weird question but here it goes.

I recently bought my car from a kid who really did a hack job. I was nieve and didn't know what to look for, but now that I know alot more about how turbo cars work, I am appalled. Anywayz, long story short, kid sold me a car with essential parts missing, such as BOV and BCS. I want to go with a blow-through setup and get an UICP with an opening for the GM MAF.

I ordered a GM MAF already from someone on here, and will be ordering an UICP from DejonTool. I plan on ordering the one with the short route piping for the Big FMIC. UIP-1gC.

Right now, I'm a little strapped for cash as I have been buying different things for the car. Is it possible to run the GM MAF inline with the UICP and simply not hook it up. I would keep the stock mas on the car for now until I could pony up 300 for MAFT GenII + cables.

Thanks alot guys. This forum is awesome:thumb:

The GM MAF's are very much straight flow through them even if you still have the screen on them. You don't really need any kind of power loss to come about putting one on without even hooking it up.

I would still be sure you have the flow running the same way as the incorrect install might cause a minute amount of drag, or possibly damage the GM MAF. Also, watch those little resistors can easily get snapped off if the unit is dropped, touched, or fumbled with. Soldering them back is also a risky procedure. Basically, don't break them off!
