hey guy ive done alot of research on these 3 inch maft translators and i just got one from a bussy of mine to try and tune with other than my afc... and some of the topics i have read people have said you do not need to use the purple wire enless you are running nitrous... well heres the problem... my car is running spray and i still have not found anywhere where anyone has explained where to put the purple wire... so thats my question... where does the purple wire from the translator box go to on my car??? i would appreciate any help with this... also does anyone have a picture of the plug that i have to tap the white wire into in the engine bay... i dont feel like running another wire into my ecu... thanks guys...

the WHITE wire hooks up to a tachometer source. It is un-needed unless your going to be doing RPM based tuning --in which case you already have the SAFC to do this so dont worry about it.

That's the white wire you're referring to. Usually people hook it up to the white wire on the CAS since that's the cleanest rpm signal that won't be suject to inteference from the spark plugs.

The purple wire is a trigger that is used in conjunction with alcohol injection or nitrous. When it sees an input voltage, the translator adjusts the entire fuel curve based on the AUX trim setting.

BTW, if you already have an AFC installed, I suggest you leave the MAFT alone. Just set it for your injector compensation and continue using your AFC. Finer tuning, more adjustment points along the rev range, no need to hop out of the car to adjust a knob, the advantages of sticking with the AFC to tune outweigh any benefits of using the translator instead.

OOPS, thanks for the correction, I thought it was purple... WTF
