ecmlink v3 with gm maf translator?

Problem
Hey everyone I have a 3" gm maf and translator box, but as I have upgraded to ecmlink v3 im having some issues with receiving signals from the maf unit. Also the car does not cycle into closed loop at idle unless I have the settings correct for my injectors on the translator.

Possible Culprit
I was wondering if the translator box could be the issue here and if i should go with a direct wire from maf to harness as ecmlink allows (its 75$ dollars and I am cheap, so I dont want to spend the money if I dont have to...)
