Hey everyone, do any of you have pics or wanna tell me how you ran your 3" exhaust piping in the rear of the car.

Like did you run it under all the crossbars and everything or did you run it through everything like the original setup, the guys at meineki think if they go under everything the exhaust will scrape everything I go over but I've seen people that have done this. So basically I would just like to see some pictures of how others have it done. Or descriptions :)

Thanks everyone

Mine is ran Right beside the driveline the whole way back then curved around behind the rear diff and in front of the gas tank.. IDK if its the stock setup my car had this exhaust setup on it when i bought the car.. But i would think its in the stock spot as its on the stock exhaust mounts.. It has no issues and never clanks against anything..

Why dont you just run it the through the same way as the stock system, probably the best way to do it since you can follow a route..

Yeah I plan on going the same route as stock I was just seeing what other people have done. Guys doing it think that it may still bang around in the stock location ### of the bigger piping but I guess we will find out LOL

I run my 3" cat back underneath the rear crossmember.
Seeing that your a GST as well, you can do what I have.
Ever since I've had it on (over a year ago) I've never scraped the thing.
Youll have a tad bit better exhaust flow since your not going over ther member.

Ok awesome 97boostingst, that sounds like a plan, are u lowered as well? I'm lowered about 2.5 inches prob. I doubt u Happen to have any pictures of that though do ya?? Thanks for the info guys

I'm lowered on H&R sport springs.
Don't have any pictures on me, but I'll try to snap some for you tomorrow.

Ok cool, no biggy on the pics, I'll be going to get it put on at 8 am just wanted to find a pic for reference for them so they believe me that people do it LOL. Thanks though!! I'm sure thatll save me $$$ since it will take half the time to do it instead of doing all them crazy bends in the pipes

Wait, you still need to do the "S" shape under the chasis that the stock exhaust goes through.
But instead of going over the member I have mine routed under it.
That's what I was referring too.
If you skip the "S" part, then there's a goo chance you'll be breaking the pipes off especially on a 2.5" drop.

Mine fits like stock. But I have seen where it goes under everything like stock.

Ok guys everythings all done. Did the S shape like stock then went over the crossmember like a stock setup, it was a tightttt squeeze but they got it. I'm actually stumped at why it's soooo quiet though, 3" all the way back to cat just a magnaflow muffler and it's like almost stock quiet LOL. Think maybe it's ### of the bends over the crossmember not allowing as much flow?

Greddy Evo2, under everything...rattles likes a bi***, LOL

and if your car is lowered, forget about clearing anything

Over the member doesnt "restrict" the flow, but it would flow a little better if it would of been under the member. And the muffler makes a HUGE difference when it comes to noises.
My friend went from a Greddy Evo2 muffler to an Apex'i Dunk Megaphone, it woke up the beast inside his car.

Also, It seems that you only got a cat back. The stock downpipe and cat are way restrictive.
When you upgrade to a 3", then you'll notice the difference.

You probably won't be able to comfortably fit a 3" pipe over the rear GST subframe. There's just not enough clearance. And even if you did fit it, it would be so close to the floorpan and subframe, that it would probably be constantly making contact and vibrating.

I used to run the GReddy EVO on my 2G (under the subframe like the pic above) and my car sat pretty low. I ended up welding a small 1/4" thick skidplate onto the lowest sitting portion of the pipe. It worked perfectly for many years until I sold it.

My ebay 3in catback goes over with no issues. As long as you use all the mounting points you should not have any issues. Mine has never hit or rubbed the chassis.

Ok guys, I'm on my phone right now or I would post pictures of the final setup. It's tight but it's rock solid, haven't heard a bang or clang on anything yet.

Andd 97boostingst I have a Megan racing 3" down pipe and no cat. It's straight pipe all the way until the muffler, that's why I was curious to why it's as quiet as it is

Hahaha yeah she's def pretty tight, best part is she's nice and sturdy to, no banging around or anything :)

mine rattles a bit, and a small part of the piping near the back pf the tip had to be flattened a bit to clear around the sway bar...its hitting on something now, i havent had the chance to find out what.

im not sure if its hitting and had fitment problems due to it being on a lowered car before and scraped on everything, or if thats just how it is. Also, its pretty quiet...sounds throaty, but nowhere near what my 2.5 was.
