Hello again 'Tuners. I have some questions regarding 3" downpipe and catback on a 2g. I'll start off by saying I will most likely be running the stock t25 for a good while, untill I can afford and find a bigt28, in which my goal would be to hit around 300whp. I have read that a 3" dp and catback will cause boost creep which doesn't sound fun to me at all. Would a bigt28 with 3" dp/cat/catback experience boost creep? Would I "NEED" 3" exhaust to hopefully hit the 300whp mark, or would a 2.5" dp/2.5"catback be able to hit the 300whp mark? If not, would a 2.5" o2 housing+2.5" downpipe with 3" cat+3" catback allow me to hit the 300whp mark without boost creep? I kind of don't want a "huge" o2 housing and 3"dp/catback, and was just wondering if a 2.5" o2 housing, 2.5" downpipe, 3" highflow cat plus 3" catback would be good, without boost creep?

Thanks 'Tuners!

Explain how 15psi on an automatic is different than 15psi on a manual in a way which would completely modify the way boost is controlled by the wastegate.

The only thing I can think of would be a 1g auto which has the smaller turbo and injectors vs the manual. That obviously does not apply here.

Auto does not change the fact that your going from 2.25 to 3 inches..So yes bost creep would still be an issue with a non modified wg or ported turbine housing.

The only thing about this I would mention is I have never seen a T-25 boost creep. I ran a open 3" DP with a T-25 at 17psi on my way to the exhaust shop, and the T-25 psi drops in the upper RPM range anyways.

I feel confident to say, it is quite difficult no matter what exhaust you have with a T-25 where boost creep would ever be an issue.

I was wanting to know if full 3inch exhaust on an automatic will cause boost creep
The fact that you have an auto has nothing to do with affecting boost creep or the turbo you have. Im asssuming you have a stock t-25 turbo. The wastegate pressure would be the same whether on auto or manual, given its the same turbo. Now if you plan on using a full 3" downpipe to full 3" exhaust all the way to the back, then its possible you might experience the boost creep condition as explained in beginning of thread.
If you plan on keeping the stock turbo, you can get 2.5" downpipe and 3" catback and will work if you upgrade to a 16g later on. Should you need a 3", you can port the exhaust housing more to eliminate creep or leave wastegate pressure the same and have a tuning measure and fuel to compensate for the boost if it creeps past ~11. That was a rant,:p correct me if wrong with my suggestion guys

I had creep on an e3 with a stock exhaust. That was also on wg pressure. So if your set to run higher than stock pressure you probably wont notice...

But every setup is different unless were talking a non modified car.
