I'm gonna try to explain this problem as best as I can since it's a bit strange.
Before my problem started, I could go from 1st to 2nd with absolutely no grind. I'd have to pause a bit and let the synchro catch the gear, but other than that, i've had no problems with up shifting into 2nd. I've never slammed it into gear either; I shift like a grandma. Down shifting into 2nd has also never been a problem.
The very next day, i noticed that when up shifting into 2nd, the gear would grind. Even if I try to let the synchro catch the gear, it'll grind anyway. The longer I wait for the synchro to catch, the higher chance I have of grinding. It's as if I have to shift quicker past the synchro in order to avoid the grinding. This happens in low rpm's and higher rpm's. Down shifting into 2nd is still no problem even at higher rpm's (as long as i let the synchro catch ofcourse). This has been a problem ever since. What confuses is me is how it just started happening all of a sudden and every other gear is unaffected.
I've replaced the gear oil thinking that it might help but it had no effect on it. Do you guys think it's just the wear and tear/old age of the synchro, or something else such as shifter linkage? It honestly doesn't bother me all that much, i'm just afraid that eventually i'll blow the whole gear.
