Hello guys. This is my 1995 Eagle Talon NO TURBO.

I bought it like 4 months ago and I still can't make it work! There is a lot of stuttering the rev's go up and down.

Work performed: new battery, new spark plugs cables, spark plugs, new cam sensor, crank sensor, a new MSD ignition coil. I took my injectors out and they were cleaned.
Also the mechanic replace the map sensor. They also checked the fuel pressure and it gives 45 psi because it has a fuel pressure regulator from VORTECH. If I remove the regulator, the pressure drops to 35. I haven't replaced the fuel pump because is giving a good pressure.

I performed a diagnose but it only shows the code for OXYGEN SENSOR. That is no connection all.

Sometimes the car dies. Sometimes the RPMs goes to 100 or 200. After 5 minutes of driving the car doesn't want to accelerate, I step on the gas pedal and a bunch of explosions start happening.

Do you guys think that the oxygen sensor maybe the problem? Maybe the ECU?

Here is a video of my engine sound:

1: have you looked in to the timing?
by the sound of the car the best bet for the shuddering and what seems like "miss fire" or just simply firing when both valves are closed would cause the "explosion" like effect

2: in my experience if the ECU goes the car wont turn over and continue running at all, so id over look that for the time being

I forgot to mentioned that. My car was out of time, so the mechanic put it back on time, the two first days of driving the car was working great with no problems at all but the 3rd day became the same problem. (explosions, no acceleration, funny smell.)

Maybe is jumping a half of a tooth? Is that possible? None of the pulleys or gears are bad. Also NO smoke coming out of the exhaust.

Just to point out, the mechanic told me that this Eagle Talon has like 3 ways to put the car on time but only one works. I don't know if that's true or maybe he didn't know what he was doing?

I'm very tired of this crap just putting money and just doesn't work. I'm just going to buy a new oxygen sensor, a throttle position sensor and a new map sensor (because the mechanic replaced the map with a used one which I don't trust) so I'm going to buy those 3 things and see if the problem gets fixed. If not, I'm going to sell it to a junk yard just a waste of money and time.

thanks for your help SPHINX

any more help?

Um, hold on here. Is that cel for the front O2 sensor? Because that would explain a lot and it needs to be fixed.

Your ECU has set parameters in it that the car is always working toward. If your front O2 does not work (or gives the wrong information) your ecu will have problems with fueling.

Though it may not be your only problem, you need to start there before you can move on (if its the front O2).

Wow YEah if you have a CEL for your front O2 sensor, start there. That is what mainly controls your air/fuel mixture in closed loop operation. If you have the P0420 code (catalyst effiencey below threshold) that pertains to your cat and/ or rear O2. Which in that case you may want to check that used MAP sensor and double check that your timing has not jumped. And to my knowledge there is only one way to time any vehicle and it is the correct way explained by the manufacturer.

if not, im going to sell it to a junk yard just a waste of money and time.

thanks for your help SPHINX

Before you would get those new sensors and sell your car check and make sure the tps sensor is within manufacturer specs. You need to replace the o2 sensor for sure. You did say that the car is sucking alot of money out of your pocket so why would you add more money if you dont need too

alright guys thank for helping.

im going to start from the OXYGEN SENSOR, because it is the front one. also im going to buy a new map sensor and a tps and see what happens. thanks a lot.

Not sure why you are buying new sensors (except of course the O2 that you know is bad) but its your cash.

Be sure to disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes when you do the O2. That will allow your ECU to reset.

Just bought and installed a new map sensor and oxygen sensor, I'm going to walk that talon and see what happens.

I have another question, my Talon doesn't have a/c compressor so the serpentine belt is smaller. Do you guys know by chance the size? It's getting ugly and I want to replace it ASAP.

thank you

hello guys the problem got solved it was the map and the oxygen sensor :) thank you for all of ## help!
