What's the part that goes on the bottom that holds the bottom part of the front bumper?

I'm not really sure which part you're referring to. There is nothing inside your circle that supports the bumper, or even comes in contact with it. You're missing a plastic bar with styrofoam padding that connects to each of the crash rails on the left and right side of your circle, but it does not support the bottom of the bumper.

So does the bottom of the bumper not bolt onto anything? I'll see if I can find a picture of what I'm talking about

It's like a bracket that hooks up at the bottom

Oh I see what you're talking about. That's just intended to hold the shape of the plastic bumper and prevent it from warping. It attaches with plastic clips to the thin plastic air duct for the AC condenser and with 10mm bolts to the bumper. I'm not sure what the part number is. Are you needing a replacement or just trying to find the technical name of it? Part of mine was broken off so I had to shape and weld some sheet metal to it. Still haven't found one at a junkyard that is not damaged worse.

Yeah, I don't have one on mine and I'm trying to find one

I don't see any stamps or labels on it. I'll look into the parts diagrams and see if I can find it. It was likely discontinued many years ago but you may have better luck finding one with the part number.

I think I found it but I'm not sure if the website is legit. Do you have any experience with them?

It looks like the part number is MB914136

I found the diagram a little confusing because it shows a 2ga bumper with 2gb inserts. But that should be the part you need.

Funny how we found it at the same exact time. I don't have experience with this specific site. It's probably the same as most other Mitsubishi parts websites. I wouldn't trust their stock but you'll know after placing your order. A lot of times you'll order something and it gets canceled next business day because they don't have any. I've wondered how hard it could possibly be to keep your website stock up to date.

I'll order it and hopefully they have it. Thanks for the help 👌👌

When they cancel your order you can try here.

But for that money and time, maybe just make one out of flat bar from the hardware store.

It was very thin metal used to make them. When I repaired mine it was with some basic/cheap sheet metal from the hardware store and it is essentially the same thickness. I actually burned through at first and had to lower my welder settings quite a bit. I'm willing to bet you could make the whole part in just 3 pieces of sheet metal. It's not a complicated shape, and you don't even have to match the entire shape. Just the bolt hole positions.

Hopefully someone has it in stock though. Please let us know who you get it from. I may get one myself just to have it.

I placed an order for one. I'll give an update whether they have it or not. 👌

After 5 days, I finally received an email stating they didn't have the part in stock (in stock on site) and canceled my order
Unfortunately that happens a lot these days. New Old Stock (NOS) parts inventory for these cars is rapidly depleting around the world. Even some of the fasteners and clips are getting hard to find.

One of the sponsors for this site, Boosted Fabrication, makes brackets for our cars, but they don't appear to have THAT bracket available (yet). I'd ask them if they plan on making it soon. I haven't purchased anything from them yet, but they look impressive on their website.

If you want to go the OEM route, your only option may be a used part. Check out the classifieds section. You can post a wanted ad for the part, and feel free to link to the front bumper guide so people know exactly what you are looking for. That's actually one of the reasons I am making these guides-- to help sellers know what they have, and to help buyers find the part they want. As @BLACK'98DSM noted earlier, a lot of those dealership websites have confusing (and incomplete) diagrams, and they frustratingly don't tend to keep their public-facing inventory up-to-date.

When buying used, be careful. Get pictures. I've been burned with bad and broken parts in the past. And that one in particular is usually beat up pretty bad. That's another reason I am making the guides, so you can see what a good part looks like (or at least the best example I could find at the time).

Welcome to the part hunt. It can be pretty tough and expensive, not going to lie, but it can also be fun and rewarding. Thankfully we have a great community with some awesome fabricators in it, and there are still plenty of part-outs going on out there so that we can continue to keep our dreams alive.

Good luck!
