Hey guys, im so confused and upset right now! Ive done the intake, and put a 2.5inch catback exhasut on my 1997 GS-t. Ive also done the BOV( 1gen ) and done the upper and S pipe intercooler pipping. Me and my friends have messed around and I keep getting killed. Ive been messing with a 2006 Tiburon V6 and my buddies 2001 Z71. Both the truck and Tib beat me.

It feels like none of the power is getting to the wheels? The car is automatic, but I still think I should at least be walking them. No boost leaks, car runs perfect! Maybe its the gearing. Tires are new. ANYADVICE!

Its cause your stock (at least according to your profile). You need a bigger turbo than a t25 and a way to control/turn-up the boost.

What boost are you running?

I have an auto in the u.k and I'm the same don't seem fast atall! I am going to change the tranny fluid but that might not help but improve the life of the transmission! But it is all down to the turbo as I have raced stock evo3's and they are much faster! And they have the bigger turbo! So get the big 16g or small and instantly you will see the power! They are pretty much maxxed out already LOL good luck dude

WTFI doesn't really work like that..

There supporting mods that are needed for a bigger turbo.:)

agreed, if you just bolt on a bigger turbo and do nothing to support the bigger turbo and leave the boost control stock and everything else stock, you ll be running leaner/richer at idol and probably the opposite when driving

so in all reality, strapping a bigger turbo to the car will actually just hurt your performance untill you get:

bigger injectors, larger fuel pump, a way to tune the car ( SAFC or something like that ) aftermarket boost gague, on and on and on goes the list

do some research and hope you have some money to drop as well

i dont know i have a 2g auto with the same mods as you and my car is actually pretty quick with the stock turbo. it is actually faster than my lightly modded 1g manual. but i had the same problem as you. My car barely pulled at all, and it turned out i had a dying pump.

brake boost it...i had a auto 2g gst...if i were you, id remove the boost selnoid restrictor...and hold the gas nd the brake before u race from a dig. That will alow you to build boost and also keep ## rpms @ about 2k-2.5k...heres a video i made...you can see in the portion "FROM A DIG" boost is up and tranny is loaded and ready 2 go...but like the others said...fluids and boost leak test is a must

Thanks guys.
Ive been reading up on this all night and I think the biggest prob is the weight. My car is the 1997 with the body kit and leather and that good stuff. 300lbs extra, and its an auto. Im guessing its an 16sec car, with mods I have maybe high 15's.

I just need a down pipe and than I can put on the new turbo>
Thanks agian
