1. How do you remove the door/fender addons? Just a putty knife? Or are they screwed on as well?

2. Do I need any thing else besides the Front/Rear bumpers, tails, center section the hatch w/ wing, and the door addons? I think there is some thing I need to pull off to properly mount the tails on an eclipse.

3. The front bumper cover is busted, anyone have any luck with fixing the lower edge with any type of body filler, jbweld, or something similar?

This yard is gonna let me have the whole car for $350 - the crush value (7.65$ x crush weight in lbs / 100) Car is allready pretty much stripped. I just need to pull off the body panels I want and have them crush it.

I do not believe door panels are screwed on.

You will also need 2Ga headlights. You may also want the foglights. That, of course, is up to you and depends on your setup.

To install the rear you will have to drill out the center bumper mount plate and weld it on lower. Tails and everything else will bolt right up

I havent personally tried, but JB weld might be a good thing to use to glue the bumper back together.

Yeah I was thinking if the JBweld doesnt hold, I can just drill 4-6 holes, and run zipties through in a criss-cross. I have seen that done before. Looks kinda cool. And it would just be a stopgap until I found clean 2gb talon bumper.

Most professionals that I have seen use epoxy. I also used some on a bumper and it worked well. get the area nice and clean, apply the epoxy "make sure the crack is pushed together as much as possible", let dry, wet sand, etc. I have to repair my 2gb front bumper as well.

Epoxy works well. I havent used it on a bumper before, but I have used it on a quad fender and with all of the vibrations of riding off road and jumping, it did not let loose or crack. So that may be a good option as well.

Harbor freight sells a plastic welder kit I just did this to a 2gb eclipse bumper that was torn in the same location. I meleted in stainless steel mesh for reinfocement.

Currently debating on Cherry spray over the amber portion. I dunno though. I like the amber.

Giving me a headache . 2gb Talon Conversion, Engine overhaul (new hg so I figured what the hell while the engine is out I might as well xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) plus I have set of 2gb headlights I am either gonna mod to fill in the gap, or mod the front bumper to have no gap.

I know how you feel. I'm in the same boat. Engine rebuild, complete brake job (rotors, pads, lines, front dust shields, speed bleeders), had a hell of a time finding the correct bumper for it, interior cleaning and finding all of the random missing pieces, clutch job, rad support replacement. Just to name a few. I just pick one thing to tackle at a time and go with that. I have the interior done (99%) brakes almost done, and rad support and front end put back on.

My .02 would be to mod the headlights. It would be much less expensive and much easier to do than modding the bumper.

Yeah I gotta get headgasket job done.

But that snowballed into cleaning the shit out of the engine, replacing the oil pan gasket, and tucking as much stuff in the engine bay as I can w/o worrying about extending wires. And keeping my AC and Power Steering.

Ah, yeah I bought mine with no engine or front brakes and the interior in not very good condition. It's a fun project though. I love working on the car. Post on here, or send me somepics when youre done. I have been thinking about modding some 2Gb headlingts for my talon as well. I would like to see how they look on a black Talon.

I wouldn't worry too much about the headlights. You can always run the 2gb headlights as is until you find some 2ga ones or feel like modifying yours. Check out gofer's car. He has 2gb Eclipse headlights with a 2gb Talon front bumper and the gap doesn't even look bad. I also remember his headlights coming up in another thread and he may have even seen lower intake temps because of the gap there, but I'm not positive if that was proven or just speculation. Either way your car will be sexy with or without 2gb Eclipse headlights. I really need to find myself a 2gb Talon front bumper.

Yeah the gap isnt too bad. And these are modified OEM ones with a projector and the Angel eyes. I helped the guy make them, he sold the car. I told the kid he sold it too I would trade him my 2ga headlights for them. And I have an extra set of 2ga headlights, so w/e.

So the side things popped off rather easy. Forgot my putty knife, but a spare credit card/gift card worked wonders.

I may be doing a full write up on how to do the conversion.
