I have a 95 auto and am trying to put in a stock shortbloc from a 99 manual. When I was trying to mount the torque converter I came to realize the end of the 99 crank is not quite as deep as the 95 so the torque converter will not mount to the torque plate.
My friend had a block from a 98 manual put into his 97 Auto with no problems so I am taking a guess that it may be because the 95-96 years were different then the 97-99.
The end of the torque convertor looks like it's just a solid steel stub so I was thinking a machine shop could probably grind off the length that is too long.
Has anyone tried this combination before or heard of what it may entail?
