The front end can be bought off ebay brand new with the emblem shaved (this isnt OEM, but a very close reproduction) for 185 plus shipping (225 total).

Reverse lights are 25.45 each brand new from the dealer, ebay has them sometimes for just slightly cheaper although I havent seen them for much less than 40 shipped, and for the 10 bucks Id rather have the convenience of just ordering them from Mitsu themselves and having them local pickup. I just ordered these today by the way which is why I know the exact price off the top of my head.

I found one headlight at the junkyard in very very good condition for 50 bucks, although most likely the junkyards will ask rediculous prices as I have now found out (300 bucks for bumpers with paint damage, 450 for ones with good paint, so seriously I wouldnt even try them). Although I did find that many junkyards dont keep on record their sideskirts, so there is a chance you can get them there for cheap since they dont keep them on record. The reason they cost so much is because the actual cost from Mitsu is absolutely REDICULOUS, and therefore they figure they have a "deal" by selling it for ONLY 300, instead of the 600+ or whatever the dealer would most likely want. But since they dont usually keep records of the sideskirts they have there is a good chance you can get them to just cut a deal off the top of your head instead of comparing prices with Mitsu.

Otherwise, I would say the best places to find them is Ebay, thepartstrader.com, DSMtuners, Dsmtrader, or any local boards such as DragVA (which is just VA guys).

Again I just cant get over how nice pats car looks in these pics compared to how it used to look. Its killing me knowing mine will be just like that in such a short period of time now, it's like a tease at this point.

Personally I would highly suggest the 97-99 sideskirts and front end at the very least. The problem however arises that the 95-96 turbo parts have the stupid grey strip at the bottom, which IMO looks good, but if you are doing only certain parts of the swap, this means you either repaint the new parts with the grey, or repaint the old parts, which for someone like me who really doesnt feel particular either way on the rear bumper, I almost feel its financially a better choice to just swap to the newer bumper thats already painted right.

Just some thoughts I've had while working on getting the parts for this swap.

Hey pat, how low is the new front end compared to the old one? It just seems that the 97+ rear end is lower to begin with, and with the chin spoiler its even lower.

Holy crap pat your car looks phenominal now, I havent seen pics of it since you got that chin on.

I was the one that bought his original RM chin. I just paid a guy for the rear end and sideskirts, and I have the RM chin and 97 headlights sitting here at my house, just waiting until I get the new body parts and until I get back to school to sell off some of my old stuff laying around the house so I can afford to pick up the front end. Wow those pics again man just make me drool, I cant wait until I get it all done.

Thanks Chris. Yours should look as good when its done if not better.

With the 97-99 front and the chin spoiler its very very low. As you can see I already ran into problems with it. the chin spoiler sits very low like close to 2 inches off the ground, but I am also lowered about a inch and half. The bumper itself sits lower then the 95-96 bumper. It makes the car look lower just with the bumper on. Another reason, I like the 97-99 bumper then the 95-96.

wow thats alot of typing! LOL , i think he should get a DSMtuners.com position as longest typer per post! LOL

That was some solid advice about the subject. Dont be a assclown since he went out of his way to type that information.

Back to the subject. Since the recent incident with the pot hole. I am going to try and salvage teh chin spoiler and see if I can fix it. The front and rear bumper and sideskirts are going to be painted next weekend and so it should be complete and I will post some before and after shots.

Come on search man, I know it's against the rules to say that but it has been discussed 1,000 times and I've only been into DSM's for about a year now. Yes, you can...but you will need a 97-99 front bumper.

My help...find friends at dealerships or repair centers, and always use Escrow when you buy on DSMTrader. I got a 97-99 front bumper for free, then I thought I found headlights/foglights for a good deal on the Trader...but I got ripped off. Also just say no no to a 97-99 turbo spoiler on a a 95-96 rear end.

To give everyone an idea of what stuff costs. Here is what I've paid so far:

Headlights (from a DsmTuner) $175 (shipped)
Front bumper (ebay /like new) $135 (plus $45 shipping)
Rear bumper (DSM trader /few scratches) $50 (plus $110 shipping)
Turbo high spoiler (ebay /scratched) $100 ($35 shipping)
Reverse lights (ebay /new) $40 ($8 shipping)
6 piece Side Skirts (DSM trader /scratches) $135 shipped

Now I need to prep the stuff and have it all painted. This 97+ conversion project costs $$$$

if you need a diff. bumper for diff. lights on the front how can you buy an aftermarktet front bumper for all 2g's instead of 95-96 and 97-99?

* 97+ Eclipse Headlights will fit with a 95-96 OEM bumper with no modifications. However there will be a small gap at the inner points because a 97+ headlight does not come to a point on the insides.

* "Fits all years" aftermarket bumpers. Be very careful when selecting aftermarket front bumpers. There are a few aftermarket front bumpers that are specific to 95-95 that fit the longer headlights of those years. However the majority of the aftermerket bumpers are for the 97+ style headlight.

i would ask around with ur local dsmers. I fortunatly got my rear and bottom side skirts free from a local guy upgrading to a body kit. the front, headlights and fog lights i got from a guy who wanted my blitz bumper and projectors for a nice trade. my spoiler i got off ebay but was the worst part of the entire mod since i had the low spoiler and had to have the back welded to fill in that big@ss hole. can't wait for my chin spoiler.

anyway, ask ur local dsmers if ur looking to do a 2g-b body style, u'll be surprised at what you might find.

So why would a turbo wing look weird on a 95-96? wouldn't it be the same as a 97-99 turbo? I am also looking for a conversion for my car so far I have found the Headlights(Ebay or carpartswholesale.com) and the frount bumper (car partswholesale.com and somtimes ebay>depends cuz sometimes the bumpers is extremely scrached or cracked or somthing) the side skirts I cannot find so I am looking for it on improvmotorsports.com that was previously listed on this tread to find them but I think I can get side skirts from DSMtrader.com for cheaper if not I will get the wingswest side skirts from improvmotorsports.com as for the reverse lights I can get on ebay really easy I have seen them for for 5 bucks up to 50 bucks. as for the rear bumper I have to order that from a dealer in spokane WA since I live in Missioula Montana were there is no Mitsubishi Dealer around! anyways thats how I found most of my conversion parts..and if somebody can please explain why a turbo high spoiler/wing would look weird on a 95-96 eclipse is it cut diffrently or somthing on the top of the trunk? thankz ~Dustin(Eclipse95)

the website for the improvmotorsports.com are skirts made by wings west but its a 4pc set instead of a 6pc set is there a diffrence or they all the same....side skirts are the ones I am having a problem finding and if anybody can help me out that would be great..thankz alot..

I just wanted to see if anyone out there has completed a full 97-99 eclipse conversion from the 97-98 talon. What kind of modiciations would you need? i've searched for three days and krazykorean is the only member that i've found thats done it. just figured i'd post since this is the 97-99 OEM conversion thread. thanx

You'd need the all the same parts everyone has been listing here to convert your Talon plus Eclipse tail lights. You will also need to make a bracket to hold the center of the Eclipse rear bumper since the stock Talon brackets are located lower.

I got really lucky with my conversion.

Got the below parts used from XTRspeed in Florida. (XTRspeed is now defunct).
97 Front end
97 Fogs
97 Fog light Bexels
Clear Corners
97 side skirts
97 Rear end
97 Reverse Lights
97 Turbo Wing (Sold Wing for cash)
Total: $450

Headlights from Dsmtuners $200

Both Door caps from M & S Recycling $50

I am now waiting on getting the paint done in June.

Someone asked about the turbo wing being on the 95/96. It looks fine but if you have the 3 piece wing on you will have to get 5 holes filled on the rear Quarters and all the holes on the hatch including the mother of all holes that is for the 3rd brake light. Lot of work and expensive to do that. I sold my Turbo wing and will be getting a GTR Wing as you can still leave the sides from the three piece on and it covers up all the holes in the hatch cover. The Original Terminator wing is the same.

I will post pics after the car is painted.

Hey I found 97 + Headlights on ebay Now $80
A Couple Turbo Wings and Two Front ends.

Get on there and get your parts.

Letting you know

Are there any actual bumper differences from the 95-96 to 97-99 models? When I added my 97-99 bumper cover, I noticed the actual bumper did not fit underneath.. so how do I go about getting it to fit? By 97-99 brackets + bumper or is it not possible at all? ..or does it fit? hmm..

Hey guys I've got a problem. I've recently switched to the '97+ front bumper, and now I need to get in the fog lights/fog light bezels to make it look right. And also, my intercooler duct doesn't fit properly on the '97+ bumper, it sits about 2" too high. Well I can't figure out how the fog lights mount up. Here's a link to a pic of the lights.
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34010
Can anyone help me figure out how the bracket on those fog lights will mount to my car?
Thanks,
BryanK

does anyone have any clue how to take off the 95-96 fog lights, i wanna take them off and im wonderin if there is any instuctions online on how 2 take them off.

There are screws around the foglight housing, sometimes they don't come out and you have to pull them pretty hard. I took them off my car and it looks better.

Those fogs look like they are aftermarket bolted to OEM mounting plates. The OEM plates should bolt right onto the frame. As far as the duct goes...ditch it. Thats one of the first things I ripped off on all three of my cars.

I think the problem is that I have a '95, and those brackets were probably designed for the '97+. I didn't realize that there was a difference earlier...
I ditched the duct. Never liked it much anyways.
I guess I'll have to fabricate something for those fog lights to bolt up to.
bryanK

i did the full 97 conversion and the 97 fogs bolt right up to my 95 gst. if i get a digital cam ill show you. i didnt think they bolted up initially because i had the right fog light on the left side...switched them around and everything was gravy.
