2G with 1G Stock Bov. Flutter only while under full boost at redline

basically my car flutters between gears in the upper rpm range and then it feels likes there alot of lag between shifts. maybe its comprssor surge. or something also it kinda feels like the car dosent want to do anything with the boost sometime when i get on it.:talon::beatentodeath:
 
What is your boost level?

Flutter generally means the BOV is set too stiff for the boost level you're running. Is the valve crushed / Dodge Garage Modded?


im pushing 14 to 15 psi steady on the factory T25 turbo. spike to around 16 psi then drops down. and thats what i thought that it meant the bov was too stiff to open. and no it isnt crushed.
 
Bump again... is the flutter a bad things considering it just started doing it after my ssac fmic install.

you could find someone with another 1g bov and see if that one works.

is it recurced, or vented?



Haha sorry for the bump. nobody had replyed when i done it. and yes it is recirculated back into the intake like factory.;)
 
How is the vacum line hooked up to your bov??? is it a straight line to the intake???

yes it is a straight line to the bov from the intake manifold. there are No t's or anything on that line. also i have the factory boost controller. even though i dont think that matters.
 
I would perform the leak test and check all your hoses and clamps. Mabey even the vacumm line your running has a hole in it. did you change the upper intecooler pipe??? did you change the gasket for the bov??? just a few things to check
 
Do a boost leak test. You said it started doing that after the FMIC install right?

yes it started doing that after i went to my ssac fmic. and ive already performed a boost leak test. the throttle body was leaking. so i replaced the gaskets and fixed that leak. do you think it is possible to have made another leak fixing that leak?

Yes the gasket was changed on the bov. and i went from a diy fmic. which i hated with a passion. to the ssac fmic which is pure perfectino. 8). now at redline which my boost guage says about 14 to 15 psi at redline. the blow off valve flutters. then when i hit the next gear there feels like there is a ton of turbo lag.:notgood:

I just got my 1g bov in the mail today. Looks really different from the 2g.
And from these searches ive done... seems like i wont be able to jipsy the swap myself without having some troubles.

Any suggestions??

buy the adapter flange for the stock upper ic pipe end.
 
Check that the little hole that you block in the dodge garage mod isn't plugged. While you have it off, verify it has complete travel and that nothing is keeping it from moving. If you have a hand vacuum pump see if you can't get it to lift off the seat.

Wouldn't a boost leak make it less likely to surge?
