The tire width should be the same as your rim width for best performance. Run wider tires for a more comftorable ride but worse performance.

My 95 came with 225s on it (Fuldas). They cleared the upper suspension by just a little bit, but they did clear- no sign of rubbing. I went to 205 Yokohamas to replace them (AVS 100s were on closeout at $60 each), and the car felt a _lot_ more nimble and steered a lot lighter. Used those up, and am now back to stock Dunlops at 215.

My cars lowered and Im running a 215/35R/18 and have no trouble. Its a Kumho ECSTA Supra. Its a low pro tire though.

ok i got some velox rims. no tires though. the rims are 17 x 7.5 how much if any wider can i oversize the tire, 205's are surpose to go on them but can i go wider? and if so how wide? I want more traction.

You should be able to run a 215/45 without a problem. That's what I have on my 17 X 7.5s

I'd suggest 225/45/17 - that's what I have on my wheels, which are the same size as yours...

I am not sure, but you can check the stock tiresize (which should give you the stock wheel size) by checking on the inside driver's side door panel.

Yes, the stock chrome 5 spoke GST wheels are indeed 16x6...

Just got some new wheels for my 97 Eclipse Gs-T. Some gunmetal 18" Motegi MR7s.. Got em at a good deal. Now, I need to buy some tires. What kind of tires would be good for these? The following measurements of the rims are 18x7.5 +45mm offset. I want a low profile tires but not TOOOO low to where im bending the rim on potholes. I want little tire but how much is too little?

Anything in that size should be good. I would recommend the Yokohama AVS ES100's. Good tires.

err 40-series WAY too small for 18's you will feel EVERY bump 45-series will be more adaquate for everyday driving

i recommend 235/45/18. I dont listen to tire rack recommendations they said if u get 17X8 i should get 225:thumbdown

i have 235/45/17 and they look horrendous [ wheelmax ####ed up ] i have gobs of traction but they make my wheels look smaller

for 18's i'd go 245/40/18 ; had them on my 3000GT and they looked great

I don't think you can fit 235/40/18's with 45mm offset unless you plan to use spacers.

That's what I was thinking.

225/40/18 would be the best fit. It would also be as close to stock rotation as you can get.
