I'm runnin 225/45/17 on my 17x7
you can squeeze 235 on your 17x7.5 also

Well i have some new Kumho Escta supras laying around and i was wondering if they would Fit on my Stock Eagle talon rims which are 16X6 i believe(correct me if im wrong) well the Tires Are 225-50-16 and currently i have 215-55-16 dunlop a2 on their but they are getting bald.. I just wanted to know if these 225s would fit with out causing any problems or concerns???

You should be fine. I had 225/50's on my stock 16's.

Just checking..quick question..will 235-45-17 tires on rims that are 17 x 7, with a +42mm offset rub any on my '96 unlowered GSX?? Or what if I lowered it 1.5"??

I haven't noticed any rubbing on my setup. The wheels are exactly the specs you are saying: 17x7" 42mm offset. They are ADR Limited Concept Pros. I have 225-45-17s though. My car is lowered 1.3" with the Eibach Prokit. You have a decent chance of not rubbing. Let me know how it turns out. I am considering getting 235s next time if I can get away with it.

Um okay..how do you know? You have 18's, I have 17's..did you misread & think I said I was getting 18's..?

heres the deal...235/45/17 is very wide and wont fit...especially if lowered....if i were you i would go with the 205/40/17 if your lowered....if not go with the 215/45/17(if you want more meat on your tires and better treadware) or the 215/40/17...

just a reminder...wide/height/rimsize....if you go up one size in rim you go down 5 in height.

also dont go past 45 offset...

Grrr I'm being told different things..I've been told that they won't..been told that they will. But most people have said that 235's are the biggest you can go on 2G's. So..taking the +42mm offset into consideration...will 235/45/17's..with rims that are 17x7...rub any on my unlowered GSX???

That's funny, I have 235/45/17's with a 2" drop, and I don't rub.

The rims are 17X7 with a 40mm offset.

Wheel spacers will definitely help. You could probably go as wide as 255 with spacers, but not if you lower your car. I've seen at least one setup where 275 series tires were used, but the height of the car was raised a little bit.

You should be able to find spacers at some DSM performance shop online. Do some searching mang.

with a +40mm offset your wheels will stick out more then +42 or +43mm, thus there you go...... and a fwd has less clearance then an awd, do to slightly different suspension.
