2g Trans/Tcase questions

I have what is a newb question but I am an old time 1g guy so please for give me . Any way I am in the process of buying a 2g and I was wondering if all of the trans from 95-99 are interchangable? And does the same go for the Tcases? Thanks for the help I am very excited to be getting back into a dsm but I have alot of 2g reading to do.

All of the 95-99 transmissions will work in any 2g. There are some differences that you have to watch out for though.

The 95-96 transmissions have a different final drive ratio than the 97-99 transmissions. Since the rear end's gear ratio is all the same, this means that the gear ratio inside the t-case is different to compensate for this difference. Therefore any 2g trans will work in any 2g as long as you keep the correct t-case with it. 95-96 trans with a 95-96 t-case and a 97-99 trans with a 97-99 t-case.
