hi all, recently my tranmission blew and now i need a new one, i was wondering if i could use a 1g one since i could probly find one cheaper than a 2g one. Now i no that 2g trannys have a speed sensor and 1g trannys have a cable, is there a way to swap the sensor into the 1g? Also is there anything diferent in the gear ratios? or anything diferent at all? Im trying to get this thing done asap if anyone has any suggestions please let me know, thanks alot.

2g trannys have 3 mounts and 1gs have 1 mount. It would be really difficult to do, i have thought about it because i have a couple 1g trannys. The best thing you could do is rebuild your 2g.

I have a 1g tranny in my 2g. It is a 1g on the gear side and a 2g bell housing. It bolted up great with very very little modification to one of the mounts. Otherwise I have been very pleased. Just make sure you use the correct transfer case :) I forgot at first and it drove a lil funny for the first mile then i changed it real quick and wow much better :)

very good information. I need to look into the price of a 2g bellhousing. What modifications are needed?

thanks!

went to the dealer last week to find out a 2g bellhousing is 350 with my discount.

beleive me i have been trying. 1g's are a dime a dozen but 2gs are hard to come across.
