2G Thermostat

I replaced the thermostat in my 2G today as preventative maintenance. Anyway, I got a Stant thermostat from Advance Auto Parts, part #14078. When I removed the stock thermostat, I noticed that it had a jiggle valve. The Stant did not have one, so I drilled a small hole about the same size at the top in the same area as the stock one. It's not really a valve per se as it's just a hole, but was just wondering if this would affect anything.

It's just an airbleed. The Stant probably did it with a dent in the side of the seat.
