2g talon tsi awd-fwd swap

I SMOKED THE TRANS IN MY TSI AND I CANT FIND ANOTHER ONE AND I NEED CAR ON ROAD ASAP!! I FOUND A FWD TRANS AND WAS TOLD JUST CHANGE TRAND AND DRIVESHAFT. I WAS ALSOT TOLD THE AXLES ARE DIFFERENT I GOT A 96 TALON TSI AWD with 6 bolt swap. TRYIN TO INSTALL FWD TRANS what od i need to do PLEASE HELP ASAP

This sounds like a terrible idea but either way you will need a fwd flywheel and starter plate along with the axles which are different.

kinda confused but why would i need a different flywheel and starter plate? im goin from manual to manual. the bellhousing is the same isnt it? and whats defferent about the axles. i had sumone tell me they are different but both work. i need this car on the road within 24 hours and i have a fwd trans i can go get rite now but i dont wanna buy it if it wont work

Yep axles need to be changed as the FWD uses 27 splines vs the AWD 25 splines. Starter plate and flywheel needs to be FWD since the FWD flywheel uses a 110 tooth ring gear. Will need to also remove the halfshaft and bracket on the driver side. If the seller is selling the trans with all those parts, you can probably get it done in a day. If not, good luck sourcing them. It's probably easier to just pull the AWD trans out, have it repaired, drive a rental for a week or so, then reinstall it when you get it back.

They covered it.. I literally just did this to my spyder because I didnt want it on jacks all winter.. You NEED, FWD trans, axles (both sides) starter plate and flywheel. Then just drop the driveshaft and you're good to go.

Nailed it. Post a wtb ad in the classifieds, I see them on there quite frequently.
