2g SMIM on 1g head?

It should fit, just confirm that the IM seals properly on the bottom of the intake runner of the head.
This is the only point you may get a vacuum leak.

What you want to do is similar to what some of the 2.3 Ford turbo boys do when installing a D port EFI IM on an early carb'ed oval port head.

Well I need to know for sure if it'll work before I spend the money on it and get stuck trying to sell it

I can not give you a yes or no, I have not done that combo, nor do I have access to a JMF IM to check the flange on

That's what i said before i edited. I THOUGHT the 1g head had larger ports and slightly different shaped intake ports on the head.
I wasn't positive and deleted it.

OP: How much are they asking? I might be in the market. That SMIM runs over $700 from what i've seen. Plus even a cheapo 70mm s90 is around 150 bucks.
If you aren't buying it, and i would suggest against it, would you mind sharing the info(price) etc?

That's the jmf drag smim you sure you need that big of a smim? What's your mods that you need it? And the q45 (if it's the 90)is 3.5" you will need 3" ic piping to utilize the setup. And yes 1g and 2g heads have diff size and shape ports.

3.5"?? Daaaaamn. The "s90" that i found is a 70 o 73mm TB. Guess the q45 is a monster. That's way overkill for 95% of the community.
Gotta have an IC with, preferably 3" inlet and outlet. I suppose 3" outlet and 3" pipe all the way would help but you're talking the 90 to 100+lb/min range with something that large. Unnecessary.

3.5" on the money haha :) and ya I have the jmf drag smim setup for the q45. And a box full of 3" ic piping and couplers from siliconeintakes. And a huge fmic with 3" in and out. Going to flow nicely ;) think about it 3" intake system all the way and 3" exhaust :$)
