i just picked up a set of 2g pistons on 1g rods and i went to install them in my block and the pistons are too big .........i was told they are the same bore size as the 1g pistons

the number on the piston is 63dtf1 any info ?? what size is the piston

Maybe you bought oversized pistons?

The standard bore dimension is the same for the 1G DSM's, 2G DSM's, and Lancer Evolution 4G63's.

The 1G DSM's have a 7.8:1 compression ratio, 2G's are 8.5:1, and Evo VIII and IX's are 8.8:1. This, of course, doesn't factor in head thickness...if you have the head milled, it obviously will raise the compression as well.

Did you read to what jusmx141 just typed?? 1g, 2g, evos are all 4g63... they all have the same bore size... main difference between them is the compression ratios... You can't go making decisions off of "what you heard"..... smh....
