I'm sure it has been answered. But I can not find a link. So if there is a link please post it and I will read it. My question is can 7 bolt rods and Pistons be used in a 6 bolt motor?

You really couldn't find that with a quick google search? You're gonna get a lot of crap answers to questions like this without doing some digging on your own, but the quick answer is no. If you really wanted to you could have them machined to physically fit but even if you could why would you want to, the 6 bolt rods/pistons are dirt cheap and the rods are much stronger. Google a picture comparison of the two! If you are just trying to do a budget rebuild, find someone in the classifieds with a set of stockers and throw them in!

*Not posted in the classifieds but I have a good set of 6 bolt rods/pistons if that really is all you're trying to accomplish. If you're doing a build or already have 7 bolt pistons for some reason, you can buy rods from several places now that are made for a 6 bolt crank but with the correct wrist pin size for a 7 bolt piston. Gives quite a few off the shelf options for compression and stroke combos! Good luck and in the future try searching a bit harder so there aren't as many duplicate threads clouding up the boards!

Since you wanted a link here is the very first google response for 7 bolt rods on a 6 bolt crank goes into detail of width and diameter differences for your knowledge...

Already have a built 7 bolt but broke one rod . Screwed the block and crank. I can buy one rod and Piston cheaper than buying everything to do another build. I have a 6 bolt laying around. Having trouble finding a 7 bolt block close to me .

Huh, so you need a crank and a rod/piston but of the same type as your current build? Still don't see how sizing the remaining three is gonna help. Build that 6 bolt and don't look back they are all over and relatively cheap. You aren't auto are you that could cause some price differential...

* Aren't K1s custom anyways? Probly be cheaper and easier to get that crank and a single rod and slug I guess if you're staying on the hx35/40

Block, crank, piston, and rod. My Pistons are .40 over. And no manual transmission. And I can not find a 7 bolt around here so far still look. Just exploring my options. I was pretty sure it wouldn't work. Just a thought. I rather stay with a 7 bolt so I don't have to get a new flywheel. Trying to fix Two cars and not kill the bank account.

Hear that, gotta appologize I am on my phone and thought you were asking about stock for stock equipment. Couldn't see your profile at all till going into user stats once I saw K1's I figured out a lil more were you were at. May help to edit the top post and give some more info can't imagine resizing aftermarket rods is gonna help reliability though either way... GL hope you get her back to kicking ass soon.
