Hey I was wondering if i built a 6 bolt with like ross pistons and eagle rods..how much psi can the block itself hold on the safe side? Becuz the build i wanted to do was have like 420-450 whp to the wheels.. Also am new to dsmtuner so if theres a thread on this already sorry

ya youll be able to hit those numbers on that setup! better make sure you got the turbo and fuel to do it though!!

You could reach that in a stock bottom end car. You would be fine and more reliable with that combo though.

Agreed, I have a stock bottom end and run 30psi all day. Stock 6 bolt can handle up too 500whp as long as the tune is good. The key to these cars are too tune and get the right fuel mods.

Thanks for the replays and as for fuel i dont know what size injectors yet and yea i know that oem block can handle what am looking to make but i rather be safe and get better pistons and rods

But what I wanna know is with that setup can the block hold more power.if i wanted to make like 550-600whp can the block handle it?

you can make around 800-900 hp on the stock unfilled block. anything over that will require you to fill the water jacket of the block.

what's the max power a 6 bolt block handle?

Old thread...do you mean the stock 6 bolt internals, or just the block? This topic really has been beaten to death, but whatever. The stock internals can RELIABLY handle 350 hp pretty easily, but the record is up in the 600 whp range I believe. The block itself...alot...well over 1000 whp.

I was talking about the bare block itself...but over 1000whp I guess as long as the motor is healthy they can last a long time LOL

Asking how much horsepower a block can handle "safely" is pointless. Every block is different, and thus each one has its own breaking point. One block with X modifications may handle 500hp, and another block with the same modifications may blow up at 250. Only your tuning/datalogging software, gauges, and a smart upgrade path will keep the engine safe. And even when everything is working perfectly, accidents can happen. Good luck with your build.
