FFWD Connection is selling 2g OEM Hoods "Louvered." What do you guys think about the effectiveness in the design in terms of dissipating heat, keeping temperature lower, and overall look compared to other vented hoods available for our cars? I'm concerned about rain being an issue if I use this hood since there are times where there's heavy rain fall here. And last questions is would you get this hood or would you recommend getting something else?

Wow......

I saw that ad on their page and was wondering what it looked like, but didn't expect ANYTHING like that.

I would think it'd be more effective if the louvers were more forward on the hood so that hot air from the radiator could pass right out, instead of going over the turbo and valve cover to escape. At least that's the reasoning/thought process I used when installing my hood vent. I believe most other people with vents use this method as well.

I'm not sure how effective the induction vents would work around the filter, as they are pretty small.

I personally wouldn't buy this unless it was proven to reduce temps drastically. It's just hideous.

It looks like it should be effective. As far as it looking sexy, not so much. Now rare... rare it is. I bet not many people, if any have this hood. It's not as ugly as people say. It doesn't look that bad. But I would not pay more than $250 shipped to my door.

I have a thing for scaley or louvered looking kinda things. I usually take an axe to such things. And right now I really feel like taking an axe to that hood. If I saw my skin like that, I'll rip my flesh off. I absolutely HATE things that look like that.

I guess your not really a dragon now are you. Your just a big fat PHONY!!!

Ok I have to agree with everyone before me and say it looks pretty ugly. However I could see it venting some heat out. But if it lets heat out, it will let rain in. Not sure how long sensors will last during a heavy rain.

Interesting. I'd rather buy a cf hood with a vent or buy an oem style and put a vent on it lik eI did with one of mine.

Our hoods are actually designed with cooling in mind.

Have you ever took the side off of a computer and had it pull hotter temps?
Yeah, same concept. Our hoods actually build up pressure to help cool our stuff.

All in all this is 'tarded
