2G 2g non turbo water pipe

I picked up this water pipe and I bolted it up tonight and realized the opening for the thermostat housing is way off. Its pointing in the wrong direction. I thought this would work on a 2g turbo thermostat housing. The only way I could see this working is cutting the bracket off of the water pipe. My set up is a 6 bolt with a 2g head and 2g thermostat housing. What's the deal??

What is that supposed to be off? It looks just like a 2g pipe but doesn't have the spot for the oil cooler. I'd imagine either a Galant or a euro spec 2g non turbo. From the looks of the pipe in the picture it should work with the 2g thermostat housing. They could of possibly sent you a 1g pipe. I would post a pic of the actual pipe that you got.

Its not a 1g pipe, this one still points up at the inlet near the thermostat housing. 1gs point down

What is the part number on it. I am wondering if maybe it is a galant pipe or something.

From the part number on the site it looks like that is for a colt or summit. It definitely looks like the angle is a little different for sure.

It will almost certainly be more trouble than it's worth, but the Euro-spec non-turbo 2G water pipe part number is MD331600 in case you wanted try that route.

I think I can get this to work if I cut the bracket off and twist it. Will the pipe stay in place by just the o ring?

No it won't stay on with just the o ring... I know from experience.
