The 2g maf is not plug and play. Some wiring is needed to get it to work on the 1g ecu. If you look around you can find a plug and play harness that adapts the 2g maf to the 1g wiring. Ive seen alot of them on ebay for roughly $15. Make sure you get something to tune with as your going to go a little lean from the added airflow over the 1g maf. If you get a set of 550cc or EVO 8 or 9 stock 560cc injectors theres little tuning needed to get your car running like great. I personally had the EVO injectors and the 2g maf on my 1g and loved it.
so i WILL have to up my injectors? of can i keep them stock with a little tuning?
The 2g maf spits out a volume flow reading in hertz at about 20-25% lower than a 1g maf. Your ecu will think there's about that much lass volume airflow and you're run terribly lean. You need the sfc to bring those numbers back in line. Or run larger injectors that are exactly the same size difference as the metering difference.
