i have a 90 eclipse gsx and i have been wanting to do a conversion to a 2g maf and i have been researching it some and i seem to be getting alot of confusion information. what do i need to make the conversion work other than the obvious( maf and the plug so i can wire it in to my wiring0 do in need a apexi safc? will it not work right with out some kind of translator? will it work fine w/o and changes to the fuel/air ratio? i need help! i am lost on this one...

Yes, it flows about 18-20% more than stock. So if you leave it alone it's going to run lean. For it to work properly you will need a way to adjust your airflow reading. SAFC works good. You could invest in DSMlink and it has a preset setting for it also.

i have a set of 550cc injectors that i am going to install at the same time. will that bring the a/f ratio back up to normal levels?

Every car is different. But the bottom line is that you WILL need some sort of control over the airflow. I have 650's and the 2g mas and I have to go into the positive for some of my settings so if I have to do that with 650's then you would run lean if I had 550's and no sort of fuel control. I would just find yourself a used SAFC-I or II. You can find one in the classifieds pretty cheap these days <$200. Also, I didn't mention, you need to rig up an intake pipe for it. Dejon tool makes a pretty nice one. Or if you're cheap like me I used a stock 2g intake pipe and rigged up a BOV return line. Hope that helps.

Like Project said, you are going to need some kind of tuning device. AFC is a nice start since you seem to be a newbie.

If you are still on the stock 1g intake pipe, you will need a 3" coupler to go over the intake pipe to the 2g mafs.
Then you need a filter on it, you can get a filter and adapter off ebay for 20 bucks

Or you can make your 2g mafs fit the stock 1g filter. Go on to vfaq.com

MAke sure you go through that good. IT will tell you everything you need to do on a 1g to 2g mafs conversion.

While you are there, make sure you read up on everything and anything

its so much that i am new to building dsms. i just dont have a lot of experience when it come to tunning a/f ratios. neverthelees thanks for the info
