Alright, a little background info before I start. I purchased this DSM with an aftermarket Kenwood headunit installed, as well as various other poorly rigged up electronics (gauges and a turbo timer). I have removed the headunit in an attempt to both clean up the wiring and fix an issue it has with the AM/FM tuner.

I have the stock Infinity amp under my seat and from my understanding that is used to power the tweeters in the dash, so I would like to retain that. (correct me if I'm wrong)

Below are a couple pics of what I am working with, the top one is the butchered factory harness WTF, and the second is the harness for the Kenwood harness and what appears to be a MITAH adapter?

My questions are:

1. do I have everything I need to use my Kenwood headunit and retain use of the Infinity amp?

2. is it possible to purchase a radio harness to replace my butchered unit?

Thanks so much for all of the help!

Excellent! After I have this all wired up can I plan on pulling the factory amp out and discarding it LOL

Thanks for all the help guys it was much appreciated!

sorry i got to this very late.

to answer the OP's question, based on what you asked and what you have, YES you have everything you need from the pics to use your AFTERMARKET STEREO WITH THE STOCK AMP.

the mitah adapter is there, so that means your aftermarket stereo WILL NOT power any of the speakers.. the stock amp will. but it serves for very easy wiring.

to be honest with you, that butchered wiring is not necessary. just clean it up. with the mitah adapter all you need to locate is the GROUND, CONSTANT 12v, SWITCHED 12v, ANTENNA (if powered antenna). I believe thats all of it, its been a while.

the argument will always be, why use the stock amp?!?! the reason is because MOST people DONT KNOW, or are LAZY to wire it up properly for the AFTERMARKET STEREO TO ALSO POWER THE TWEETERS..

it requires more work or more money depending on what route. the cheap easy route is to wire the tweeters parallel with the front speakers and use base blockers.

The PROPER way, is to get a COMPONENT SYSTEM for the front which comes with passive xovers, OR get ghetto and just by the passive xovers, and wire accordingly. you just run the front output wires from the aftermarket stereo over to where the stock amp is, see my guide in the faq/guides section and wire accordingly with the passovers.. or if you feel its easier directly run the wires to teh speakers which is not going to be fun.

Again, people are in denial when they DONT wire up the aftermarket stereo properly and the dash tweeters/speakers are not working. SOUND STAGE IS HORRRRRRRIBLE. and of course they paid X amount fo the new stereo they will "FEEL" it sounds better. in fact it doesnt cause it will be rear biased and NOT correct and not sound right and the front stage sounds like only sound is coming from your legs BECAUSE TAHTS WHAT IS HAPPENING!!!!!!!

The only time the aftermarket deck will sound better if you wire up the dash speakers properly with passive xovers, bass blockers etc.. if you are NOT ready to do that, stock amp setup and mitah adapter will sound better.

The harness option might not work best since the wires were all cut already.. if in severe doubt than you can always run your own wires to all individual speakers. That does seem like
quiete the hassle though
