So here is the Deal i swapped a 1g head with a 2g head on my 1g block. Everything is back together timing is perfect, at idle the engine does fine, give it gas it takes a second to rev up, but soon as i go to drive it or anything it backfires lick crazy and boggs out. I cant find the problem, i redid the timing a few times. The only thing i think it could be is i have the 1g intake cam on the 2g head, and left the exhaust on the 2g head. Could this cause this problem? i searched didnt find nothing so hopefully someone can help, also car is bone stock beside head swap.

I have a 92 laser RST i put a 2g head on it, i took out the intake cam from the 1g so the CAS hooks up, but i left the 2g exhaust cam in.. is that a problem?

i have the 1g intake cam it is fine plugs right up, i have a 92 laser so its not the CAS

im pretty sure they are in the right spot, and the timing is perfect everything lines up, will the 1g intake cam and the 2g exhaust cam make a difference?

What about my lines that i capped, i capped everything but i didnt block off the EGR valve, also i used a 2g EGR does anything make a difference how it runs?
