2g hatch cover

has anyone tried a 06-12 eclipse hatch cover in a 2G? From glancing at the two I see similarities and considered trying one as I found one cheaper than I can find a 2G one for. Was just curious if anyone had tried this and if so what kind of roadblocks they hit.

I'd be curious of that too, man. I don't know if it would fit, but I wonder if it's close.

It would certainly be nicer to have a 4g cover since most 2g covers are beat to crap and awful looking.

The body lines are not even remotely close. Just because it says Eclipse on the back, does not mean it will fit. The 2g has vertical tail lights, whereas the 4g has tail lights contoured to the sloped rear.

In short, it will not work.

If you can, get some measurements. I'll take measurements of my 2G privacy cover in my Talon and tell you how it compares. It LOOKS close from what I've seen in the junkyards though.

Dude! We're talking about the interior hatch privacy covers! Haha...Yea, I know 4g body panels are not interchangeable with 2g cars or any other gen. The back seats in the 4g look damn near the same as the other gens. The PRIVACY hatch covers may be close since the width between the rear strut towers seem close and the width of the back seats seems close. It's worth a try.

Yea! See? That's what I'm talking about. Those back seats seem to have remained the same throughout the years. The mounting points for the covers may be slightly different from generation to generation, but it's worth a look!
