hello all my gst stutters under boost, its not a big stutter it feels like it goes in boost than out. I feel like its the spark plugs, what do yall think? thanks!!

Have you BLT lately? Boost leak test. Maybe a Timing Retard for knock. Maybe Fuel cut. Many variables can cause your symptoms. How much boost you running? Octane?

It wouldn't hurt to change the plugs.

no its mostly stock with just little mods like greddy intake, and bov. It does have a vacuum leak because it does idle high and surge. but it boosts good until roughly 3500 than starts to stutter. so its stock boost aswell. I don't believe its fuel cut but I will check the timing when I change my timing belt.

Yeah man. Good luck on your search. It would be difficult to give you the EXACT answer to your problem over the Internet. Best bet is to just sort everything out you can. Go through your maintenance checks. Re-Circ that woosher. You know, narrow it down piece by piece.

Have fun with it.

Thanks man, ill try and figyre it out but it shouldnt be anythin to raise concern right? Uts wear and tear from normal use correct?

Well it's not acting normal. If something is not right then you should be concerned. Whatever the concern is though it's going to have to be a process of elimination and only you (or your mechanic) will be able to answer that question.

I would read up on the forums and get at it. There are a lot of really good threads here. After you read about 3000 of them the answers seem to get repetitive. There is no real "be all end all" answer to a lot of the problems we face with our cars.

If you ask such a broad spectrum question you are more than likely to get broad spectrum answers from a wide group of users that have their own way of dealing with vehicle repair.

Owning a DSM is a very personal experience. You have to love the beast to go through the hell they sometimes put us through. There are a lot of WISEMEN running around here that can help pin point your issues if you can narrow down the problem a little closer to the source. They will be able to chime in on the fix.

It's not any different than any other car though. There are the "known issues" you will discover by lurking the posts.

In your case though there is more "unknown than known".

Time to get HANDS ON ;)

I would start with your spark plugs. They are easy to check and replace. When I first bought my car it would stutter under boost too. Turned out all I needed were new spark plugs. Hope this helps.

I myself would start with plugs. Already had the experience three times even once with a brand new plug being bad. Besides it's only a five minute job to eliminate it being plugs. From there if you haven't replaced the wires that would be the next place to go

wow thank you all for your support I will start with plugs and slowly restore this beast to when it first rolled out from Mitsubishi. Ill reply on this thread with the results of everything I do.

Boost leak, plugs, and fuel filter. These are the MOST common issues with your symptoms. When performing BLT, try it after the car has warmed up. Warm, soapy water will help pinpoint the hard to find leaks such as the TB shaft seals and fuel injector seals.
