Since I just posted most of this in a thread I might as well add it here since there is no guide on this particular install.
here's what i went with for piping:
since im running a evoIII16g i purchased 2.25" tubing
bought 4 U-bends with a 4" radius from www.englishracing.net $72
Here are my costs:
Streetimports.com IC (or any ebay cooler of near the same size): $300
2 foot of silicon coupler material ebay - 25$
Tubing englishracing.net - 72$
J-pipe and 2" - 2.25" expander - 30$ (j-pipe(got a hookup) 20$ for coupler
a bunch of clamps from the local auto part store ~20
Welded beads: 20$
Total: ~490ish
First - test fit the intercooler, then find some MISC scrap metal and attach it to the hood latch support (my core had one center upper mount and two lower ones.
NOTE: The piece that holds the bumper to the upper radiator support - it is a triangle lookin thing, it has 5 or 6 bolts that go through the bumper cover and into it, it is mounted to the upper radiator with 4 bolts and one lower bolt that attaches to the the center hood latch support. I cut the entire lower "triangle point" off to make it easy to fit the intercooler, just do it. ALSO I felt it necessary to loop the power steering line, it makes fitment easier.
Now that you have the piping and j-pipe start test fitting the piping to see where you need to cut the legs..
To connect to the FMIC and round the radiator I simply cut the needed amount of tubing off the legs of TWO U-bends, specific to each side.
cut another U-bend in half to make two 90* (or L shaped) pieces to head upward (both sides) one to the intake and one to the turbo.
on my setup I used the last bend to cut a small piece from and make the transition from the throttle body to the pipe my BOV is welded on. (bov is welded on a 6" piece of tubing)

This piece made it very easy to swap in my 3" GM MAFT in blow-through setup once I got it

At this point you will need to trim the solid bumper, use a sawzall its tough shit.
Here's all done from the front with the bumper back on
Now you will need to test fit and cut up your front bumper cover... this is slightly time consuming unless you just hack it up
apparently I havent taken any pictures of it completed, I'll do that later
For those who think you HAVE to go through the stock upper pipe location, you do not. I didn't. Take a look
The off-car pictures should be all thats needed to give a good idea. Its the same exact setup on my car.
Also, I did not have much trouble with leaks or blowing pipes off. I did have the pipe ends beaded at a local performance shop for 20$.
I'll probably post up additional pictures later, if I don't drop me a msg and Ill take some and post them.
