2g Engine swap to Evo 4g63. HELP!

Hey im pretty new on here. just got my dream car 3 weeks ago. I want to get a new engine to rebuild for my 98 GSX. This guy is offering me a 2005 Evo 4g63 with only 48k miles on it. He says he can sell the whole engine for $1400.

IS IT WORTH IT?
Also has anyone every done the swap?
Will i need to modify some parts?
Is the Flywheel different? will everything Line up?
Whats the difference between a 6bolt vs 7?

Just forget that idea right now. The evo motor is reversed flow from our engines. Unless youre a master fabricator and have tons of money, its not gonna work.

In my area, I can pick up a running long block for around 300. 1400 for a motor is pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

1400 for an Evo motor isn't too out of the realm of possibility. My friend Greg just bought a block with a spun bearing for $700 for his Evo. One of the rods in his old block took a vacation the long way; through the transfer case and balance shaft. And block.

But no, the Evo engines don't work in DSMs very well. Everything's pretty much backwards. As for the other questions regarding 6/7 bolt motors, what makes one work in cars designed for the other, etc. etc. a quick search on here, VFAQ, and the tech articles should answer those pretty quickly.
