Ok I had recently blew my motor and pulled it from my car. I couldnt help but noticed a big hole in the side of my block next to the ac compressor also one of the pistons came up and hit the head. Anyway I just got this quote from this shop and just want to know if you would do it . There just building the engine. Using 6Bolt block with 2G Head.

6 bolt bottom end
ARP head studs
H beam rods
CP pistons .20 over
peak performance Gas Nitrided piston rings
rod bearings
main bearings w/thrust washers
6 bolt oil pump
oil pump gears
water pump
timing belt
timing belt tensioner
balance shaft belt
oil pan gasket
ACT flywheel
ACT clutch xt-ss
ngk plugs
super tech retainers, valve springs
Ferra Valves 1mm over
3 Angle Valve
$5500

That seems like a good deal to me. The only thing I didn't see on the list is a head gasket and instead of gettig a balance shaft belt just eliminate them all together.

If they do the install and give you some kind of warranty 5500 seems an ok price, you can shop around but don't expect to get great results if you find someone to do it for 3. Also, just remove the balance shafts.

You can always get the parts yourself and put it together :) There is a vid of someone building a 4g63 in 10 minutes, its fastforwarded, but you see all the important steps.

well its kinda steep but I guess its about right if they are installing the engine too. Go check out Slowboy Racing and talk to Mark if you can. He might be able to work something out with you.

Matt

and remember they are boring the block for you and if its a reputable shop, the engine will work afterwards :) good luck, slowboy racing is a good place to go, many people have done thier work there
