hi everybody. i blew my engine on my 2G and im replacing it with a 4G63 from a 1G. just wondering though, will any parts from the 2G 4G63 fit onto the 1G 4G63? i am currently have Dejon Tool upper and lower intercooler piping, a HKS bov, and a Injen intake. Also, how hard is it to swap in a 2G MAF into the 1G engine? or is it even worth it? Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

The 2g MAF is a good idea, seeing as how you already have it. You are going to need a 2g install kit for the 1g motor, because some stuff doesn't match up perfectly. Depending on your goals and if you want to take the motor apart, you can keep your 2g pistons and have them mounted (by a machine shop) onto the 1g rods.

I had a similar question back when I had my 6 bolt swap done. The Upper intercooler pipe, bov, and intake will work. However, I believe the Lower intercooler pipe cannot be used since the 14b uses a j pipe. As far as the 2g MAF, it should swap over no problem. I know mine did. By the way, def. keep that 2g exhaust manifold as it flows much better than the 1g one.

hey Thanks for the help so far guys. a couple more questions, can anyone give me detailed instructions on how to swap over the MAF? like which wire goes where, and does the 2G exhaust manifold bolt onto the 6-bolt? or does it need a bit of modification?

You could save yourself some more money by using the head off your 2g. Now i am sure a bunch of people will jump all over me by saying this, but i have a 6 bolt block with a2g head and love it. YES the ports are smaller, but the difference is NON EXISTANT, and for some reason if you do feel the difference, get it ported, the 2 g head has LOTS of meat on it to port the hell out of. Turbocharged air doesnt depend on big amounts of room, it depends on velocity, and the 2g head is angled better to get the air where it needs to go. Instead of buying a 1g head for 400 bucks, take your head you already have to a machine shop and have the head bolt holes reemed out 1mm and it will fit PERFECTLY on a 6bolt block, the shop that did mine charged me 25 bucks!!
