2g eclipse woefully underpowered in gt4

i fully modded my 95 "eclipse gt" and only got ~390 horsepower. does polyphony not understand this engine is the same as the goddamn evo's??

the turbo only goes up to stage 3 in the parts menu
 
Yea I just picked one up today for the hell of it. I'll keep it just to have it.
 
It pains me to say this but i recommend the Neon SRT4 to use as your FF vehicle, not the Eclipse OMG
 
This is probably due to it being only a FF. I don't understand why they put Dodge Ram Quad cab trucks, 72 versions of the same Skyline, that 3-wheeled Benz (first car ever made?), stuff like that, but they can't put a all wheel drive Eclipse or Talon or even the 1g. I guess because of all the Evo's. I'm glad they put the BMW M Coupe in (I love this car).

I think you can take the Talon Esi to around 300hp or more. Anyone know?

Whats your quarter-mile (0-400m) time on the 390hp Eclipse?
 
the eclipse comes stock with 230hp tho... why is that I wonder?
 
Makes me wonder, since they didn't even get the NAME of the eclipse right, what says they got all the numbers for all the cars correct?? Come on, it doesnt take that much research to find out the right NAME and horsepower for the GS-T. Also doesnt take much to realize the 4G63 in the Evo is the same as the 4G63 in the eclipse..... :thumbdown

i believe the japanese version did have 230hp stock. didn't it have the cyclone intake mani? what all else is different...

oh well either way, sucks. i guess its up to gameshark to make an eclipse gsx with 600 horsepower.
i'll get a 1/4 mile time for it when i get back to my house. i am stuck at school :( :cry:
 
remeber that it is the euro spec eclipse. not usdm. i am not aware of the differences, besides the amber tails.

I think you're right about that cyclone IM
 
there is no JDM version of the Eclipse. The Cyclone manifold came off of JDM G-VR4s

I think the most you can get out of the Talon is 332 hp maxed out w/ stage 3 turbo.
 
yea kinda suxx they spent 2 years extra to put the game out and still get eclipse gt wrong LOL, i hella waited for this game and dam it looks like gt3 graphics, the better handling is GOOD but dam i got a ####en 1/4 on my eclipse with chip,exaust.intake.14.66 LOL dam game
 
The Eclipse is the same from GT1, they didn't even bother to look into anything else about it. Same two colors, same options. I wonder if you can supercharge the Talon? The description for Eagle describes them as rebadged Eclipses that were AWD or FWD. And it puts a '97 as their new car. :rolleyes:

Actually, this has been brought up many times. The Eclipse was imported to Japan for a year or two, so yes, it was sold there.

As far as GT4, i'll probably go buy it today, assuming it's not sold out everywhere. It's a shame about the Eclipse, I was hoping it was a GSX version. Dangit.
 
Just because they import them from US doesnt make them JDM. If you import a skyline from japan does that make it a USDM skyline...no its just an imported skyline. There is no such thing as a Japanese Domestic Eclipse because they were never sold there.

Eh? They were sold there officially. The use of the word "Import" doesn't necessarily mean an individual. Nissan "Imports" Skylines for the U.S. market, with different labels of course, (G35) Thus making them USDM.

There are pics on there which will explain the wheels they put on the Eclipse in Gran Turismo too. Because they were the Japanese version's wheels.

some of the text from that site, translated through babelfish so it's probably not 100% accurate:

1990 February, the eclipse sale in Japan is started. As for line-up AWD model GSR-4 of 4G63T/C loading (200ps) with GS which is the FF model of the non turbo (140ps) 2 grades. GSR-4 only 5M/T, was the constitution, 5M/T and 4A/T in GS.

1995 June, with the American home country already has been announced the D3* eclipse which to Japan appearance. The latest full change model was thrown GS-T, in other words only the FF turbo model of 4G63T/C loading. The 5M/T model (230ps) with the model of 4A/T (220ps) it was, but the 5M/T model is set only the first import amount, it is valuable existence. As for color 2 colors of the Japanese original パサディナ lead-lead and アパラチャン black.
