Recently my eagle talon tsi started make a weird noise / vibration around 3000 rpm. I figured out that the noise was my drive shaft vibrating because of bad u joints. After I installed new u joint the noise / vibration almost went away, but is still there. I can see that the piece of metal that is on the yoke of the drive shaft going into the tranfer case is vibrating while I Rev the car. Does anyone know what that metal piece is called, what it does, and if that play is normal.

Some sort of collar, maybe a debris shield. It is kind of loosely tacked down (bent) in two spots to secure it. I could see it coming loose pretty easily. It has no structural function, just protects the output seal.
