Was reading in the how to section about the coolant mod when switching to a short route piping. In the post they suggest a plastic welder (wicked expensive), or using hot glue (sketchy cause it melts easy). Was wondering if i could use epoxy? If so shich type should i get??

i mounted mine where the stock smic used to be with some zipties. its wasnt the cleanest way to mount it but it did work for the time i was driving my car.

I also mounted mine where the smic was, but it wouldn't stay full, or even filled a little bit. I later read that the coolant reservoir has to be close to stock height or it will spill out of the pressure release hose. All advanced auto stores have these. There are two sizes, so if you get one make sure it's the 1.5 quart one. Sorry about the link, here is a pic from the site and a pic in my car. I have my intake out right now, but you get the idea. No brackets are needed since the fit is so perfect and installation takes no time at all.

All I needed was 2 bolts w/ nuts, sheet metal screws, and the 69cent piece of metal from Menards.

I'm not suggesting that solution won't work for some people, but I too lowered mine, albeit a different way, and it wouldn't retain coolant. If you research you'll see that other people have had the same problem. Ideally, the coolant reservoir should be no lower than stock height.

Looks good, you said no brackets were needed? So its just kinda sitting on the ic pipe? Do you have a picture with your intake pipe in place.

The 95s have this sensor on our coolant overflows, I dont know if you 96 guys have it, the 97+ I believe do not. If i change it, I don't want any dummy lights going on.

I didn't have any such sensor. The reservoir rests against 4 surfaces, which keep it very stable without the use of any brackets. The four surfaces are the intake pipe, the headlight (2 sides) and the fan shroud. I don't have any pics with the intake pipe in, but my turbo should come in the mail today and when it's in I will have the intake pipe back in and I'll take a pic for you. I'll have it all done by tomorrow at the latest.

Mine is in the stock smic location and works fine.

Ditto, stock SMIC location. Gets that whole mess out of the engine compartment but coolant refills do become alot harder. I've done the gatorade bottle, you do if for a while then your so embarassed to pop your hood you end up doing it right:D

Could i please see some pictures of the coolant bottle where the stock smic went? I just cannot imagine where it would go.
Also back to my original question reffering to this post in the tech section (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227941), could expoy be used instead of hot glue (which i am guessing wouldn't hold up that well) and a plastic welder that expensive?

TSG59steve: how is the lower bracket working out for you?? any problems?? have any pics installed?

Thanks Alot
