Update:
I am quite surprised, but replacing the axles did the trick. Although only the driver side axle appeared worn out, I replaced both front axles. I bought a new set online, filled the transmission with some cheap oil to test if the axles would resolve the issue, and to my surprise I was able to successfully drive the car without any slipping.
I appreciate everyone's input and I'm quite thankful all I needed was a new set of axles. I was mentally prepared to pull the transmission and send it for a rebuild, or locate another core for rebuild.
Might still get a refreshed transmission at some point considering this one was virtually ran dry.
