Is there any difference on the crank side (big side) of the rods between 1g 7bolts, and the 2g 7bolts?

this is why i ask, i'd like to replace the pistons with the slightly higher compression 2g pistons from topline with the rebuild kit i'm going to get from them. i've heard they'll add those in for liek 30 $. could i then order scat rods for a 2g 7bolt, and avoid machinging costs?

I can't think of why this wouldn't work unless the rods were different on the crank side.. which i don't think they are. Does anybody know for sure?

ok so wait. are you askign if there is a difference between 2g 7-bolt crank and 1g 7-botl crank. as in 2g rod journals vs 1g rod journals. im confused on what your asking

Yes basically... I have a 1g 7bolt. i would LIKE to put 2g pistons in it, but i'd rather not have to deal with machining them. So if the 1g and 2g crank is the same in terms of the connecting rod journal, i could do this right? or are there clearance issues?

not sure about clearence issues but heres the messurements i have on a print out for machining 1g rods to fit 2 pistons.

wrist pin bore is 22mm on 2g.

wrist pin on a 1g is 21mm

then the width on the top of the rod is 1.140 for 1g

2g is 1.040.

ill see if i can find hournal specs on the 2g 63 rod journals. i think they are the same at the rod journals but ill look it up for a definate answer

Thanks! its that machining i want to avoid by using both 2g rods and 2g pistons. but i haven't seen any rod journal specs before.
