I'm putting a 1g 7 bolt into my 2g (I know I know... I got it for 300 bucks for the whole engine...) I will keep my 2g head though b/c it's ported and has good valves and springs. With the 1g bottom end do I need to switch crank sensors? cam sensors? what all needs to be switched to make this work, or will it be the same b/c it's still a 7 bolt?

you should have to change pretty muc everything that you would with doing a 6bolt afaik

1G 6 and 7 bolts are basically identical from the outside. They both have the Crank/Cam angle sensor mounted on the head.

What we are talking about is the 2g 7 bolts have a crank sensor and cam sensor.

6 bolts just have the cam sensor (CAS, on head).

Does anyone with a 1g 7bolt know for sure if you have a crank sensor?

oops, I messed up. 1G's DO NOT have a crank angle sensor, whether it was a 6-bolt or 7-bolt. However, the 1G 7-bolts have a provision for a crank angle sensor, while the 6-bolts do not.

so would I be able to use my 2g crank angle sensor on the 1g 7-bolt, and keep my 2g cam angle sensor...? that would make things way easier.
