Gotta a no start issue, everyones heard it before. I got everything situated, tb changed, everything lined up (timing), crank position sensor changed, wp, tb tensioner and pulley all changed. Back to the future, I get everything ready, I turn it over and wont start. Fuel pump goes when I crank it over, batterys good, getting spark, was gonna check the asd and the fp relay, but for some ungodly reason I cant find them and to top it off, the ephrom pcm looks good. Im a noob to dsms granted, but Im not a noob to cars, is there something im not understanding or has this happened to someone else. I want to get it back on the road but im spent. Any tips, suggestions, experience, about this?

Engine turns over. I have tried everything but the pcm and the fuel pressure regulator. Off work in bout an hour. Ill rethread whats going on afterwards.

I went over everything in the link you provided, I finally tested the coolant temp sensor, its reading 1.6. Would this sensor being out cause the injectors to flood the cylinders? I know there like 20 bucks but just thought id ask u guys first.

I know a bad coolant temperature sensor can definitely cause a 1G not to start. Whether it's the same with a 2G or not, I'm not certain.

So engine coolant temp sensor wasn't the problem, still not starting. Tomorrow ill be ripping apart the fuel system to see if any fault is there. Ill let you guys know whats going on tomorrow

I tested the fuel rail, injectors, fpr, checked all connectors, and still nothing. checking the alternator voltage regulator later. if all else fails, i'll probably either get a new motor or try the head gasket. I remember I guy on here saying his head gasket was the problem. i'll update you guys if I have more news.

Did you check spark yet? I did not see a post indicating that. Also checking compression? What was done to the car to take it from a running state to a no start?

I bought the car from a friend whose plain lazy, tb tensioner went out so I bout it. replaced the tensioner, set timing then got a nk start. im getting spark and fuel but no start. the battery gauge is dem thats why I said I would check the voltage on the alt.

I had set my timing off one tooth when i did my belt years ago it started but ran rough. If you have a way to check compression do it, if the tb tensioner went and the belt skipped time, valves may have smacked the pistons causing low compression.

Forgot to mention to check the spark plug wire locations and the firing order not that they are on wrong.

so, finally got a good day, no work, checkin compression and im not getting any compression on any of the cylinders. I followed the vfaq and I got no compression. I unhooked the fuel pump, gas pedal floored and everything ready, still no compression. still out workn on it, any ideas?

checked the plugs, there still gapped, so the piston head didnt hit, but im baffled by the no compression? could the head gasket be shot or the head warped? ### im clueless

Your pistons likely kissed the valves. That has nothing to do with the spark plugs. Time to pull the head and assess the damage.

would that cause my no start problem? if the piston barely touched the valve, that would cause a no start?
