Question: got a 6bolt bolt swap that i bought with swap already done. They did a slack job on the swap lots of things arnt hooked up but cars runs.

Problems: car runs rich when my MAF is completely unplug and has horrible cold starts to where if i hit the gas it shuts off, but if i hook my Mass Air FLow sensor up the car has problems creating boost and randomly misfires feels like the car is running lean but i am not throwing any codes for my MAF when it is hooked up. and by the way my boost guage is telling me that im only boosting 12/13 lbs

Mods: I have a 255 wally, 450 injectors, short route front mount, injen intake, 14b turbo, hks 3 inch exhaust, stock fpr, 1g intake, 1g head, manual boost controller, stock MAF, can anyone see by the mods i have if anything could be causing this problem or is my maf on its way to the trash. Or do i have over kill

Parts im missing at the moment: No map sensor because i guess Previous owner didnt want to weld it to the 1g intake many, both of my O2 sensors are cut, throwing egr codes,

Solutions: I currently jsut purchased my o2 sensors and going to put them in as well as buy a aem wideband so i can actually seen my air/fuel with my MAF connected/disconnected.

THEORY: Now lets say i get my wideband hooked up and it tells me im running lean/rich with my MAF connected is there way i could adjust my air fuel without having to buy dsm link or a piggyback system all the help and info i can get will be helpful not any DSM shops around where i live so im stuck. And also how important is my map sensor on the 6bolt swap is it a neccessary part?

Plans: I just want this car to be my daily driver and get good gas mileage on the highway with some balls if someone wants to get some of that DSM power any suggestions on mods i need, or like i said if i have to much over kill or vice versa thank you

Also your going to get the random misfire. Pretty much everyone i know that has done a 6 bolt swap gets the random misfire. There is a certain code you have to delete.

Random misfires are common on the 6 bolt swaps. Check how they reqirwed everything. I have an rre(I think) plug for the cas.
Definitely get an afpr, your 255 pump is pure overkill on the stock fpr.

Suggestion: don't buy other peoples shitty projects.

To do it right, go over everything they touched and fix everything. Have fun. :thumb:

ok thank you i needed to know that a guy told me locally that works on dsm that is wasnt overkill but i knew it was it had to be thanks. And as far as buying someone elses project i only paid 1500 for the car running so i think i got a steal with 60,000 on the block i can handle going over someone elses work for that price.

Question: where is the connector for the map sensor look like/ located on the engine harness

I would invst in dsmlink for the misfire issue. The pot mod is half ass solution. Dsmlnk solves it much easier and is a good all around investment.

Also check for boost leaks! Mine was acting the same way, turns out I had major leaks! Buy a can of maf cleaner from any autoparts store and clean that up as well. When I got my car it was almost identical to your situation. I replaced the o2's, added a mdp sensor (map), cleaned the maf, added an afpr, and fixed all the boost leaks. Now it is good to go, just to give you an idea of things that can be looked at.

thanks that helped me to find out i dont even have the map connector on my harness wow i bought a hack job i might just have to get a new harness and rewire the whole car now would i still need the map sensor when you if you were to tap into the break boost vaccum line im new to this so bare with me please

word thanks man im gonna go with that route defiantly i def need to do a boost vaccum leak test and def gonna add the map and afpr now but i cant find the connector from the engine harness for the mdp sensor theres a possibility it got cut out how would i go about fixing that or should i just go ahead and replace the harness and do it right since it looks like they did the custom wire in for the cas and tps sensor i need to get you guys some pics to look at to make it easier on the diagnose

Actually, no, you're wrong. Don;t buy dsmlink for misfire CEL, all it does is get rid of the check engine light. It does not remove misfiring in a 6 bolt swap.
