225/50/16 tires/lowering springs

I have searched quite a bit and now it is time to ask. I use 225/50/16 tires on stock rims. The car is a 1995 Talon AWD/TSI. The tires are very close to the upper sus. arm(not sure of the term), but no interference.
Can lowering springs be installed without the tire making contact with this suspension arm?

The arm moves with the wheel it will not get closer when you lower the suspension.
