225/35/18 on a 1g

Will these fit? they are bridgestone potenza S03 Pole positions. Just wanted to know how people are faring with 35 series tire on 1 gen cars.

I'm running 225/40/18 on my TSi FWD. No rubbing. Our front suspension is the same. Pirelli P Zero Neros.

In all honesty, I think I'm gonna sell my rims and buy mint 92-94 TSi rims, paint them black with nice polished lip and get some fatter drag radials. Low pro's suck. Too hard.

You can fit a 225-40-18 on a 1G, so 225-35 will be no problem.

The first number is the width in mm. 225mm / 25.4 = 8.86" wide.

The middle number "35" is an aspect ratio aka percentage of the width. This will tell you your height...but it is not a fixed size, you have to do the math. 225x.35 = 78.75, 78.75*2 = 157.5, 157.5/25.4 = 6.20, 6.20 + 18" = 24.20" Tall

A 225-35-18 is 24.20" tall and 8.86" wide.

A 225-40-18 is 25.09" tall and 8.86" wide.

A 205-55-16 is 24.88" tall and 8.07" wide.


All said, a 225-35-18 will fit, because it is undersized.
