I was drooling over the new Audi's yesterday, and I couldn't help but notice how the new A7 only has 310hp on a 3.0 V6 Supercharged S line model I thought that was a bit low and for the hefty price of $81,000 + 10,00 tax and title, I felt it was a bit too much. In Audi's defense it is insanely luxurious, SEXY AS HELL AND QUATTRO, oh and did I mentionit comes equipped with an 8 speed automatic tranny?! What do you guys think?

Gotta look at more than power. Remember the Acura NSX?

Lol, you mean the underpowered and overpriced "supercar"?:tease:

sticker on this one was $78k + a $3k markup for the hell of it (literally).

Don't act like u guys don't stare when an NSX rolls by

The 8 speeds auto sounds sweet.I remember when the meecedeez came out with the 7speed auto..I guess Audi had to 1 up them.. But for that kind of cash I think I would rather buy the 50 sum thousand dollar 550hp oopercharged Caddy..Or a different turbocharged audi for lessmoney..

Or an evo any year besides evox and stick ten grand in it..Cause the evo x is something around 40k isn't it?

8 speed auto is horrible. It would always be shifting up and down :banghead:

To a point perhaps. My friend just bought his wife an S4 auto and the car halls, goes through the gears quick and seems like a more powerful car. He and my friend, with a 12.40 0.25 Trailblazer SS RWD, went from a dig and the S4 rolled/pulled like an animal.(TBSS could not catch up)

2012 Audi S4 has 333hp with Dual-Clutch 7 speed

That's the first thing I thought. The Lexus IS-F has an 8-speed too. Seems like way too many gears. They talk about how it improves MPGs and such, yada yada yada *boring R&T or Motor Trend magazine article about "green" starts here*

That $81K is for the brand, not the performence. Do you really see anyone that buys that car taking it to the track?
That Audi is doomed to pilate obsessed housewives and white collar commuters. No enthusiast is going to want that thing.

+2 on the new CTS-V. I would never buy one, but that's value.

SUV versus a car. No contest.

Yeah actually... when i was in Dubai i went to a invite only Drift competition... Seeing all the amazingly EXPENSIVE cars drifting in a parking lot was something else.... but out here? never...LOL

Well obviously it wasn't made for cheap dsmers was it. It is for an older generation that wants a nice comfortable car that can get up to speed quickly but the same time not get 15mpg. You guys are bashing it for its price and lack of hp, when it has one of the nicest interiors ive ever been in, rides well, quiet, and I think looks kinda nice on the road. If you're an enthusiast then no you don't buy this car, you would look at the RS4, RS6, TT RS, and the R8.

What a stupid comment... The 8 speed auto fails just as the Lexus's does. It always wants to hunt for gears and that's not a "comfortable ride." the most comfortable ride we've found so far is the volvo xc60, plus they'll send us to the plant to have us pick her up

Can u guys imagine what a nightmare this car will be when the warranty expires on that 8 speed tranny!

How is it a stupid comment?? People are complaining about a car over priced, well yeah more than 80% of the people on this site can not afford it. That doesn't make the car junk does it. A lot of the technology will begin to filter down into other cars, so you will see 8 speed Camry's in the future. You will see the use of LED technology used throughout the car, and also the aluminum construction will be used by others. The newer transmissions are much smoother than before. Yes as a paddle shift 8 gears is too much but to get the best economy at the same time as quick highway acceleration, then a 8 speed will help. My dad's e350 never has an issue of "hunting" gears.

It is overpriced... There are much better and more comfortable rides than the A7, trust me we've looked. And you're no going to convince me that your dads car doesn't shift a lot. That's the whole point of the 7 gears...
And the performance is very sad compared to it's counterparts, which cost less may I add.

I agree they are over priced, which is true for most high end cars, but Audi seem to find a market in just about everything. Having 7 speeds it's going to shift a lot but it goes through them so smooth you don't really notice, its only slow speeds in which it gives a slight hint of gear change but never discomfort. Yes you can get a full spec Kia optima for 1/3 the price, but sitting at a light when a A7 or CLS pulls up next to you will feel small, useless and will want to kill yourself. Its for people who have plenty of money and dont mind washing it down the drain for some status show off. Ze Germans know this very well and make a bit of money of these people.
