Ok so I have a nice calender entry I wanna send, buuut its 14MB and the Yahoo mail limit for sending anything is 10MB, so I compressed it with WinRar and it came out to be 10.9MB :banghead: Any suggestions?

Can someone tell me if the picture I sent is big enough? It was 2053 wide but it was 300 DPi. I just wondered if it was big enough so I can go take 2 more pics with a better background.

Try reducing the width to 3000 pixels wide, and the resolution to 300 dpi, if it's set higher than that. That should help.

So long as it was 300 dpi, the width should be okay. But if you can take some pics with a better background, I'd accept those too.

Is it in RAW? Something doesn't add up.

I don't think so. I got it compressed to 8.6MB's now, so I'm good :) Apparently I was using the ZIP archive format when I should have used RAR archive format.

We will stop collecting submissions by October 15, 2009.

YES! Just came in here to find out how long we had. HPDE event in the evo october 10th-11th, maybe I'll have a nice action picture to submit :D

I do not have any photos which meet the criteria :( 2500-3000px wide @72dpi is all the guy at the track WSIR would sell me. I can probably get some good stuff later in the year at Cal Speedway though, that will be the low drag config.

So 192dpi wont be accepted? the Images are 2500x1659@192dpi :( And are in .JPG Format. I haven't done ANY photo editing to clear image or add color or anything. And honestly the images are gold! But at 192dpi.

That might be okay... depends how many other entries we have.

I'm sorry but my camera is not quite up to par for the parameters but I would still like to submit a pic or two.. I'm at about 2000X1500 that is max for the camera, and I'm not going to go buy a new one so should we still submit what we can and then let you decide if it is worthy or not?? Didn't last year you have problems getting enough entrys as well?

Send them over and we'll see if they'll work. Last year we had trouble with people sending us photos that didn't meet the size requirements, yes. I had to sift through a bunch of photos I couldn't use. This year I'm trying to give people more time to take photos that meet the requirements.

Just sent out a mass email to the members and of the first 5 replies I received with entries attached, only 1 met the size requirements - or even come close.

:ohdamn:

:heystupid:

I don't know squat about cameras, sizes, dpis.. but it looks like your asking for pics that only a minority of people with super duper cameras are going to be able to produce.. I mean I know why..... tiny pics blown up look like crap. I will see if I can get better pics with my dad's camera, it is like a 10meg camera, if not I know some local car guys with top notch stuff.

Maybe the front cover could be a collage of photos (9 or 12) of pics from those with smaller file sizes. That way everyone could submit? Or would that lead to too many submissions?

Also, just to help out, pixels and dpi go hand in hand. Example: An image that is 1500pixels wide at 300dpi is essentially the same as an image that is 3000pixels wide at 150dpi. The only difference would be the file size.

So, Jeff99GS, your pic at 2053px at 300dpi would work once resized. It would be over the 200dpi requirement and look great :thumb:.... unless of course you were shaking the camera like crazy.

Hope this helps.

Just sent one. Hope it makes it :D .
